GIGUYWASSA desribes a neverending mutual relationship of exchange. What is exchanged is the most precious thing: happyness. The child who first find a job is the giguy of the african family, that recieves from him the happyness due to the new economic possibilities and returns it to him increased, in an endless circle of mutual enrichment. Thanks to music, dance and art, the same relationship is established between the artist and the public.

Joy returns joy. This concept is at the roots of the philosophy of the Griots, very important figures in Western Africa's societies. Professionials of music, they developed a foundamental role in every single aspect of social life. True guardians of the historical an cultural identity of their people, they transmit and increase it for the generations to come.

IGUYWASSA is what regulates the mind of the griot in his encounter with the people. The griot practicing his/her art gives himself/herself to the audience, who, thus encuraged, returns to him all the happyness making him feel grateful and satified.

GIGUYWASSA has been established in Florence by Nahi Alain Franck, soloist dancer in the "Ballet National du Côte d'Ivoire" under the direction of Louise Akin. Afther many tournées all over the world (Europe, South America, Asia), he arrived in Italy with the "Ballet Marauhuet" and decided to settle down continuing his activity as dancer, teacher, choreographer and actor. Under this new horizon, so radically different, it is always Giguywassa to inspire the continual relation of exchange and enrichment between the teacher and his students in Europe.

Together with Souleymane Dembele, musician and story-teller belonging to a respected Griot family in Burkina Faso, he gathered artists from various countries of Western Africa in a group working on tradituional dance, music and theatre. The company includes eleven members among which four Italian and one Cuban. The lannguages and techniques of African traditional music, dance and theatre, in Giguywassa's works, are means to interpret the reality into which the company is immersed.

Giguywassa has found an essencial land mark in the experience of the master Faustin Dogbo since 1974 choreographer of "Ballet National de Cote d'Ivoire".
